A Song A Day Challenge – Part II

My very dear friend Sandra tagged me to join in the ‘a song a day challenge’ which I’m thrilled to accept. I think we can all say we truly love music right? A little about Sandra, she’s an incredible writer. I honestly don’t think she realizes how amazing she is. In the link above I took you straight to her poetry section. Check it out, she’s fantastic!

The rules.

Post a song a day for five consecutive days
Post the name of the song and video
Post what the lyrics mean to you (optional)
Nominate two different bloggers each day of the challenge

Please, pretty please do not feel obligated. Here are my nominee’s:

Tracy

John

My song choice for today is….. Beast Of Burden – Now if you really really know me, you should know that I’m a gigantic fan of The Rolling Stones….I bow down to The Mick Jagger. He has more swagger than any man I know. When I hear “Alright Baby” and he shakes those hips….I melt. No, he’s not that pretty to look at, he’s not, but, he’s confident, mad talented, knows who he is and knows how to sing a fucking song and get you moving. Hands down my favorite band EVER.

Lyrics:

I’ll never be your beast of burden
My back is broad but it’s a hurting
All I want is for you to make love to me
I’ll never be your beast of burden
I’ve walked for miles my feet are hurting
All I want is for you to make love to me
Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough
I’m not too blind to see
I’ll never be your beast of burden
So let’s go home and draw the curtains
Music on the radio
Come on baby make sweet love to me
Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough
I’m not too blind to see
Oh little sister
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, girl
You’re a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Pretty, pretty
Such a pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Come on baby please, please, please
I’ll tell ya
You can put me out
On the street
Put me out
With no shoes on my feet
But, put me out, put me out
Put me out of misery
Yeah, all your sickness
I can suck it up
Throw it all at me
I can shrug it off
There’s one thing baby
That I don’t understand
You keep on telling me
I ain’t your kind of man
Ain’t I rough enough, ooh baby
Ain’t I tough enough
Ain’t I rich enough, in love enough
Ooh! Ooh! Please
I’ll never be your beast of burden
I’ll never be your beast of burden
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be
I’ll never be your beast of burden
I’ve walked for miles and my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me
I don’t need no beast of burden
I need no fussing
I need no nursing
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be

Now turn that volume up and shake your booties….. Hoping you survived Monday’s madness loves!

Good song choice…I love Bette Midler’s version of this song. She does a great cover.

My favorite Rolling Stones song is ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’… I’m not a huge fan, but yeah… 🙂 [Damn, I’m tired… can you tell? I can barely write sentences…!]
